Terms of Service

Last updated: 07/07/2026

In short
  • Arko is a budgeting and net worth tool, not a bank, broker, or financial advisor — nothing here is financial advice.
  • Manual budgeting is free forever; connected accounts and extra features require a paid tier or an active trial.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your login secure.
  • You can cancel or delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Arko ("we," "us," "the service"), a personal budgeting and net worth tracking application. By creating an account or using Arko, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

01

Acceptance of terms

By signing up for or using Arko, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, that you're at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), and that you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

02

The service

Arko lets you track your finances manually, and — on paid tiers — connect real bank, investment, and debt accounts through Plaid to automate that tracking. Arko is currently in Early Access: some features may be incomplete, change without notice, or occasionally not work as expected. We'll do our best to communicate significant changes, but Early Access means the product is still actively being built.

Arko is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or money transmitter. We don't hold your money, move it on your behalf, or provide investment, tax, or legal advice. Anything in the app that looks like a recommendation (spending insights, category suggestions, etc.) is informational only, generated from your own data, and should not be treated as professional financial advice.

03

Accounts & eligibility

  • You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of any data you manually enter — Arko can't verify manually entered amounts, categories, or notes against anything.
  • One account per person. You may not share your login or let someone else use your account.
04

Subscriptions & billing

Arko offers a free tier (Manual) and two paid tiers (Automation and Full), each available as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. New accounts receive a free trial of full access; if the trial ends without upgrading to a paid tier, the account reverts to the free tier and any connected financial accounts are automatically disconnected.

  • Monthly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings; you'll keep access through the end of the period you already paid for, and won't be charged again after that.
  • Lifetime purchases are one-time payments that never expire and are never billed again.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details ourselves.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us at contact@arkofinance.com if something went wrong with a charge.
05

Third-party services

Arko relies on third-party providers to function: Plaid for connecting and syncing financial institution data, and Stripe for payment processing. Your use of these features is also subject to Plaid's and Stripe's own terms and privacy practices. We aren't responsible for outages, errors, or data issues originating from these third-party services, though we'll do what we reasonably can to work around them.

06

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Arko for any unlawful purpose, or to submit false or fraudulent financial account information.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other users' accounts, or the systems behind it.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, or attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape it beyond normal use.
  • Copy, mirror, "clone," or otherwise reproduce Arko's source code, page markup, styling, or design — including by viewing page source, saving or downloading site files, or using automated tools — for the purpose of creating a competing or derivative product or service.
  • Use the service to violate the terms of any third-party service it connects to, including Plaid or your own financial institutions.
07

Intellectual property

Arko — including its source code (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), visual design, layout, branding, logos, and the "Arko" name — is the exclusive property of its operator and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. © 2025–present Arko. All rights reserved.

Using Arko does not grant you any ownership interest in the service or a license to reproduce it. Specifically, you may not, without our prior written permission:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, or create a derivative work from any part of Arko's code, design, or content, including by using your browser's "View Source," saving page files, or scraping tools.
  • Use Arko's code, design, or branding as the basis for another product or service, whether or not that product is offered commercially.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice contained in the service.

Your own financial data always belongs to you — using Arko doesn't transfer any ownership of your data to us, and this clause doesn't limit your rights to your own data in any way (see the Privacy Policy). If you believe someone has copied or is infringing Arko's intellectual property, or if you believe Arko infringes yours, contact us at contact@arkofinance.com.

08

Disclaimers

Arko is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that balances, transaction data, or calculations will always be accurate, complete, or up to date — connected account data depends on Plaid and your financial institutions, and can be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally wrong. Always verify important financial decisions against your actual bank or brokerage statements, not solely against what's shown in Arko.

09

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arko and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to financial decisions made based on information shown in the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a security risk to the service or other users. Where reasonably possible, we'll notify you before doing so.

11

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to you directly (e.g., by email or in-app notice) before they take effect. Continuing to use Arko after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
